The CCEB has a variety of rewarding volunteer opportunities for chiropractors across Canada.  CCEB volunteers are dedicated to advancing the profession and protecting the public and see real value in the work they do with CCEB.  There are different ways to get involved and varying levels of time and travel required.

Roles

  • Examiners and Standardized Chiropractic Treatment Patients (SCTPs) are chiropractors recruited from across the country to assist in administering clinical exams. Examiners are responsible for observing and scoring candidates. SCTPs are used to play the role of the patient in some stations. SCTPs also assist the examiners in scoring candidates.
  • The Item Writing Committee develops, writes, and reviews items and scenarios for the various exam components. The committee consists of a group of chiropractors recruited from across the country. Committee meetings are held throughout the year at various locations or virtually.
  • The Acceptable Competency Level (ACL) Committee is responsible for establishing the pass score for the administered exams. The committee consists of a group of chiropractors recruited from across the country. Committee meetings are held throughout the year at various locations or virtually.
  • The Exam Selection Committee is responsible for selecting the administered exams. Under the guidance of our psychometric team, committee members review and select exam items for our upcoming administrations. A separate group of chiropractors from across the country are recruited for each of the virtual meetings held throughout the year.

Benefits

Our volunteers are not paid, but we cover all expenses and offer an opportunity to give back to the profession in an important and meaningful way. Training is provided for all CCEB volunteer roles. Overwhelmingly, CCEB volunteers report having an enriching and positive experience.

Requirements

To become a volunteer for the CCEB, chiropractors must have been in practice for a minimum of one year in a Canadian jurisdiction and be a member in good standing in their province of practice. Volunteers must not be on faculty at any chiropractic college or have a personal or business relationship with any of the candidates.

We ask that you complete this unconscious bias training prior to submitting your application to volunteer.
